As a research assistant at NC State, I was involved in various projects that focused on renewable energy and sustainability. My responsibilities included data analysis, report writing, and presentations.

While at Auburn, I worked as a technical writer for the Alabama Cooperative Extension System.  My role involved creating user manuals and documentation for complex engineering systems. This role honed my ability to communicate technical information clearly and concisely.​​

EMC Engineering Services | Columbus, GA Engineering Intern | May 2021 – August 2021

  •  Designed 8 sites under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer 

  • Conducted project research and site investigations for civilian and military clients

  • Prepared working drawings in CAD based on Staff Engineering markups, construction documents, and base maps of undeveloped areas

  • Created 4 Stormwater Control Measure (SCM) models using PCSWMM

  • SCM Models consisted of pre- and post-retrofit simulations that NCDOT utilized

  • Interpreted SCM simulation model results to develop design adjustments to prevent structural damage to transportation corridors

  • Processed 40,000 hydrologic data points to identify the most cost-effective design enhancements from a hydrologic mitigation and failure resistance perspective

Colgate Palmolive Piscataway, New Jersey Global Supply Chain (GSC) Sustainability Intern 

  • Developed a Waste Steams Dashboard (WSD) that utilized SAP reports to provide near-real-time visibility of various waste streams

  • WSD increased internal transparency of operations to stakeholders of multiple levels and aided in their ability to make informed supply chain decisions

  • Assisted development of Colgate’s TRUE certification application by revitalizing dormant waste management programs 

  • Utilized the TRUE Zero Waste Rating System

Hill’s Pet Nutrition Topeka, Kansas (Remote) Quality Intern

  • Worked collaboratively with Quality, Technology, and Analytical Process Specialists

  • Updated 18 corporate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) related to daily production operations

  • Developed a comprehensive training program to acquaint employees with a new process visualization application (draw.io) that enhanced their understanding of quality assurance processes

GEM Fellowship
The mission of The National GEM Consortium is to enhance the value of the nation’s human capital by increasing the participation of underrepresented groups (African Americans, American Indians, and Hispanic Americans) at the master’s and doctoral levels in engineering and science. GEM Fellows are provided practical engineering summer work experiences through an employer sponsor and a portable academic year fellowship of tuition, fees, and a stipend which may be used at any participating GEM Member University where the GEM Fellow is admitted.
